On August 29, 2005, Teknoasis makes its Playa debut. We
gladly welcome travelers from all dimensions to take part in a
journey to the far reaches of sensation. Exiles, expatriates,
gypsies, minstrels, nomads, outcasts, outlaws, space cadets... All
are welcome. Stop in, rest awhile, and recharge your cerebral battery
packs at one of our state-of-the-art rhythm refueling stations.
At the core of Teknoasis lies the experience of synesthesia. Art,
dance, fashion, individuality, music, performance and spirituality
combine to create an ever-changing composition that can be felt, heard
and seen simultaneously. To create installations that are in a
constant state of flux, we allow multiple art forms to interact in a
live setting. We will focus on the interplay between percussive music
(live and electronic), visual art (including live painting and live
video feeds), dance, and performance.
The sonic framework of Teknoasis is an 8 point sound system. We will use advanced technology including sound projection software to manipulate the sound and steer it throughout the camp. This
auricular manipulation will bring the music to life, forming a unique
experience for all sensualists and music lovers.
We would like to emphasize that, although we are running a large
scale sound system, we are not just a dance club. We encourage all
artists, creative minds, and free thinkers from other camps to
participate in our living installations. Whether you dance, drum,
paint, perform, or practice some other form of magic, there is a place
for you here. We look forward to experiencing you!
